GTCO CalComp Releases New Version of InterWrite Software™

Added Functionality Aimed at the Classroom

February 9, 2004–GTCO CalComp, Inc. announced today the release of InterWrite Software Version 5.0 for Windows®, for use with their InterWrite suites of products. The newest release of InterWrite Software features an Image Gallery and a Record feature. The Image Gallery allows users to drag and drop a wide selection of maps and other included images into an annotation page. In addition to the included images, the Gallery is designed to provide easy access to user-defined images. The InterWrite Recorder™ records audio and screen changes to an .AVI file. This allows users to create multimedia content quickly and easily, for later playback or distribution to absent team members or students. InterWrite Software works with any computer application, allowing users to leverage their existing presentation or education software to enhance the way they teach and present.

“Version 5.0 of InterWrite continues our commitment to provide enhanced functionality and tools, while maintaining an intuitive and flexible user interface,” says Rob Meissner, Vice President of Marketing. “Whether you want to add a level of interactivity to your lesson by annotating over PowerPoint®, Word® or other favorite application, or build your lesson within InterWrite using our stamps, Image Gallery or templates, InterWrite provides our users the flexibility to teach the way they want to teach. Plus, since InterWrite is based on industry standards, you have the flexibility to create your own stamp or Gallery image using your favorite .JPEG or other common image file.”

Additional features of InterWrite Software Version 5.0 include:

Stamp Tool, to quickly add suns, apples, check marks and other images to your annotations.
Spotlight Tool, to focus the audience’s attention on just one part of the screen.
Multicolor Pens and Picture Pens, to add a degree of flare and grab the attention of students.
Utilities function that includes a count-up/count-down timer as well as a calculator.

InterWrite Software also adds the ability to program SoftKey buttons on SchoolPads and MeetingPads. The nineteen Softkeys can now be preprogrammed to operation-specific InterWrite functions, or users can program the SoftKeys to open specific applications or Web sites, or to access specific InterWrite functions, if they choose. New template inserts make it easy to maintain a record of the SoftKey assignments.

InterWrite Software is available from GTCO CalComp or your local reseller. Trial versions and updates for existing users are available online to download free of charge.
