New InterWrite Software Adds Support for Mac Operating Environment

In
teractive Whiteboards Take Advantage of Bluetooth™ Capabilities of OS X

April 15, 2003–GTCO CalComp, Inc. announced today the support of the Mac OS X operating environment with the release of InterWrite Software Version 1.00.0048 for Mac, for use with their InterWrite Meeting Suite and School Suite lines of interactive whiteboard products. InterWrite software features an intuitive tool-set, allowing anyone to pick up a pen and begin interacting by annotating, highlighting, erasing and saving notes, providing users the ability to engage their audience and increase interactivity.

InterWrite software utilizes the wireless Bluetooth connectivity in OS X to connect multiple MeetingPads, SchoolPads, MeetingBoards or SchoolBoards. “The unique aspect of the InterWrite family is that Bluetooth connectivity has been seamlessly incorporated into the products to allow greater freedom,” said Eric Timmons, President of GTCO CalComp.  “This allows the MeetingPad or SchoolPad (small wireless tablets) to be used anywhere in the room, whether working with students in the back of the classroom, or used by a team member around the conference table.  Up to seven pads can be used in this fashion, providing an outstanding collaborative tool.”

InterWrite software is a key element of the popular MeetingBoard, MeetingPad, SchoolBoard and SchoolPad products from GTCO CalComp, enabling users to control meetings, lessons and presentations from anywhere in the room. Teachers around the world are currently using the InterWrite SchoolBoard (a large electronic whiteboard) to engage students and encourage active participation. The wireless SchoolPad allows teachers to teach from anywhere in the room and turn their classroom into a dynamic learning environment. Corporations are using the MeetingBoard and MeetingPad in their training rooms and conference rooms to engage their audience, capture great ideas and keep everyone on the same page.

“Educators and presenters see the value in being able to utilize the rich content available on their computers to more interactively engage their audience. The InterWrite product lines provide that capability.“ said Eric Timmons.  “We are pleased to be able to respond to our customers’ demands and extend our support to the Mac environment.”
