InterWrite™
SchoolPad Named “Best Attention Getter” by Scholastic Instructor®
Magazine
Award-winning Wireless Teaching Device Continues to Garner Praise from
Teachers
Columbia, Md. – October 31, 2006 - GTCO CalComp, Inc., a leader in
interactive technology products for the classroom, announces today that
its InterWrite™ SchoolPad was named the “Best Attention Getter”
technology product by Scholastic Instructor®, the most widely read
professional magazine for teachers of grades K-8. The InterWrite
SchoolPad was recognized for its innovative use of wireless technology
and interactive tools to improve and enhance the delivery of lessons,
particularly for classrooms with special needs learners. The SchoolPad
is recognized in the October 2006 issue of Instructor in the “Teachers’
Picks - Tech tools perfect for special needs learners (and you, too!)”
story.
The InterWrite SchoolPad is a Bluetooth® wireless device that allows
teachers to create an interactive whiteboard on any surface in their
classroom. They can interact with their computer, with a connected
projector, from up to 300 feet away. Using electromagnetic pen-input
technology and InterWrite Software, teachers can use the SchoolPad to
digitally annotate over a prepared lesson, website, or any software
program to create interactive and engaging lessons. The lessons, with
annotated notes, can be saved, printed and emailed to students.
The SchoolPad can be used with the InterWrite SchoolBoard or teachers
can project the computer image/lesson to any surface to create an
interactive whiteboard. In addition, up to seven SchoolPads can be
connected to the same computer for even greater class participation.
GTCO CalComp pioneered the wireless pad technology and holds the U.S.
patent for the collaborative input system technology in the SchoolPad.
“We are extremely pleased and honored that, in addition to the many
accolades we receive from our teachers, our InterWrite SchoolPad has
been recognized by a leading education publication such as Instructor.
We take pride in developing the most innovative classroom technology
products and this recognition validates our passionate efforts and
strengthens our commitment in developing future products for teachers
and students,“ stated Sean McKeever, Product Manager for InterWrite. “We
have been contacted by teachers of special needs students around the
world who have shared their amazing stories of how our products have
changed the way their students learn.”
